Although the automotive industry is traditionally perceived as a male-dominated sector, the importance of women's employment and the place of women has gained traction in recent years.
Women's participation in the sector is a very important issue in terms of increasing innovation and creativity, as they bring their different perspectives and experiences to the organizations they work for. On the other hand, women working in the automotive industry undoubtedly increases the diversity of the workforce.
Today, the increase in the number of female employees in companies has become a matter of reputation. The initiatives of institutions and organizations operating in the automotive industry to increase the number of female employees are considered as a major step towards gender equality in the sector.
Developing technologies and changing market conditions allow women to take an active role in our industry. In this way, we witness that the contribution, value and importance of female employees in businesses are increasing day by day.
Strengthening the position of women in the automotive industry means creating more opportunities for them to pursue a career in this field, and with the increase in the number of female employees in the industry, women should be supported to rise in their positions and reach leadership definitions.
In order to eliminate gender inequality in business life with our signatory of WEPs identity and our #WomenFriendlyBrand title, we, as FDN Group, advocate giving more opportunities to women by working in this field and we aim to raise awareness with the projects we realize.
We support the active presence of women in business life and living up to this mission by progressively increasing the number of our female employees every year. Looking at the past three years, we increased our female employee ratio from 12 percent in 2020 to 18 percent in 2021 and 27 percent in 2022. We think that the fact that we have increased our female employment rate by 9 percent in the automotive sector, which is perceived as a male-dominated sector, in the last year is the clearest indicator of our commitment.
